In Bristol Borough, Superintendent Rose Minetti stated that “ the plan reflects a hybrid model for returning to school in September, however the district is still reviewing all of the options.The Approved Public Safety Building is moving forward for 2023 - There will be a lot of activity and updates will be available HERE “Plans may change as information and data on COVID-19 change,” she noted. In outlining this and other options, Bristol Township Superintendent Melanie Gehrens said, “The board will approve whatever option is safest and most closely supports the needs of our students and families,” as well as state, county and Centers for Disease Control guidelines. In Bristol Borough, the board will meet online at 7 p.m. In Bristol Township, the vote will be taken at a 7:30 p.m. The districts’ school boards will vote on the plans this week. Bristol Borough also is considering an online-only option for families that can’t or don’t want to send their children back to the classroom. In Bristol Township, that could include a cyber academy for students whose families want an online educational option. The districts are still considering other options. Both the Bristol Borough and Bristol Township school superintendents announced plans Friday to reopen schools with hybrid learning systems, where students are split into two groups to allow some students to learn in the classrooms while others are learning at home, thereby allowing for more social distancing.
